Home work 008

1.Have you ever eaten in a restaurant in a foreign country? Where?
Yes.
In the UK, and NZ.

What did you eat?

UK-fish and chips, banger and mash, jacket potatoes.
NZ-roast beef, salad

Did you make any mistakes? Please explain your experience.

In the UK, I couldn't understand the tip systems.


2. Did you learn anything?

I got that not so many people in the UK pay tips.

1.Since Japanese weddings are expensive, do you think having a massive wedding like Korea or UAE is a good idea? Why?

I think if expensive wedding party is not so important for me.
If i could have a small party (like home party) ,It would be a special memories for me as well.

2. What do you think about eloping? Is it a good idea or romantic? Why?

I think it is romantic, but only in dramas!!
I don't agree with eloping with boyfriend.


3. Have you ever thought about having a wedding in a foreign location like Hawaii? Would you do it? Why?Or Why not?
I don't really think so.
Because, it cost very very expensive to bring our family or audience to foreign country.
But, it sounds romantic.

4.What is your ideal wedding?

My ideal wedding is having a home party with our own ideas.
(like have a slide show of our memories,make homemade cakes to serve )

5.What would you definitely do, wear or go to on that big day? Why is that important?

Maybe white dress.
Not so important, but bride usually wear white dress.

6. Have you ever been to a foreigner's wedding?
What was your impression?

I've never been to foreign weddings.
I'd like to go someday.

1.Do you think it is important to talk about superstitions in cross culture communication class? Why?

I think it is important for us to learn, because if we don't know about other countries superstitions, sometimes it would be a bad manner.

2.Is communication affected by superstitions?

Not really.

3.Do you believe in superstitions?

It depends on situation.
BUT, yes.
If it will be a bad situation, maybe i will believe in them.

1. Please explain a time proverb in your culture.
時は人を待たず

2. What do the following proverbs mean:
a. Time is money.

I think it means that time is as important as money.
We can't waste money or time so much.

b. A stitch in time saves nine.

Sorry, no idea.

c. There's no time like the present.
Sometimed, present could be special, so it means that time is special present.

d.Let's meet at 4. If I'm not there by 5, leave without me at 6, and I'll be there at 7.
